ACTIVITIES TO KEEP YOUR CHILDREN ENTERTAINED THIS HALF-TERM

Congratulations, you’ve made it to the first half-term of the year! If you’re stuck for ideas on how to keep your energetic littluns occupied this half term, then fear not, as we’ve compiled a list of ideas that are sure to be a hit for the whole family. Whether it means you get some down time whilst they are engrossed in an activity, or you get to spend some quality time with them in an activity together, we hope you enjoy and make the most of it this half term!

  1. Nature Walks – getting some fresh air and some exercise in is very beneficial for the whole family. If you find it difficult to muster up any motivation for your little one to join you on a walk, why not make it a bit more exciting for them with games such as ‘I spy’, or create a list of things they need to find on your walk, with the winner receiving a small treat.
  2. Pancake Practice – what better way to start your day with some fun pancake making! With pancake day not long around the corner, why not spend this week perfecting your pan flip and whipping up some fluffy pancakes with the family – this is guaranteed to be popular with the children and you all get to enjoy the results after! For recipe inspiration try this easy peasy one here.
  3. Art Attack – for those rainy days where getting outside might not be the most appealing option, we recommend getting crafty and encouraging some creative activities such as painting, colouring, or make something crazy with their Lego or Playdoh (and let’s be honest, this can be quite fun for adults too, or is that just us…). For more crafty ideas head to this great website here.
  4. Family Film Day – sometimes we put too much pressure on ourselves to think of ways to keep our children entertained and busy, when in fact, we could all do with some downtime, including the children! So why not pop on a film, get some hot chocolate and snuggle up on the sofa with your family’s favourite film.
  5. Muse around a Museum – if you feel like getting out and doing something different, there are plenty of free museums in the UK for you and your family to visit, where your children can learn all about history, science, art and more! You can find the top 20 free Museums to visit in the UK here.
